What we collect, and why.

We are an independent data publication, not an ad-tech company. We collect as little as possible, we are plain about what we do collect, and we never sell it.

The short version

We keep this simple. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers on our data pages, and we only ask for your email if you choose to subscribe.

Our analytics are privacy-first and aggregate. If you sign up for updates, we store your email address for the sole purpose of sending you those updates, and you can leave at any time.

What we collect

Two things, and only these:

Aggregate analytics: We use Plausible, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool, to understand which pages are read. It does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across sites. On most pages (not our citable data pages) we also use Hotjar in a heatmaps-only configuration, which records anonymised interaction patterns, never keystrokes or personal identifiers.
Your email address, if you subscribe: When you sign up for our updates, we store the email address you give us, the date, and which page you signed up from. That is all. We do not require a name or any other detail.

How we use it

Your email is used for one thing: to send you the updates you asked for (new benchmarks, guides, and reports). We use a double opt-in, so you confirm your address before we ever send anything. We do not use your email for advertising, and we do not share or sell it.

Who processes your data

We rely on a small number of reputable service providers to run the site:

Cloudflare: Hosts the site and stores newsletter subscriptions (their D1 database). Provides security and delivery.
Resend: Sends the confirmation and update emails.
Plausible Analytics: EU-hosted, cookieless site analytics.
Hotjar: Anonymised heatmaps on non-data pages only.

Each processes data only to provide its service to us, under its own privacy terms.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, after which it is removed. Aggregate analytics are retained only in anonymised, non-identifying form.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

Unsubscribe: Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and it takes effect immediately.
Access or delete your data: Email us and we will tell you what we hold and delete it on request.

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights over your personal data. We will honour them. Contact us at hello@internationalmediabuying.com.

Cookies

Our analytics are cookieless. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on our data pages. Hotjar may set a small number of first-party cookies to avoid double-counting a visit; these carry no personal data.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change (for example if we add audience or retargeting tools), we will update this page and its date. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
